Last time at Chapter MovieMaker: isolated incidents

This month's intro opened a darker-than-usual film programme, which began with a predatory take on Teddy Bear's Picnic from Marc Ap Anthony. Paul Scoble then screened Day of The Munchies, the unholy offspring of George A. Romero and Buster Keaton. Next came the first real contender for most unfortunate protagonist of the evening: Gabriel as played by Thaer Al-Shayei and directed by Pizzaman's James Robson, though the lead from Rachel Dax and Alun Paget's The Gatekeeper also proved eligible for that title. Tony Hurley treated us to a sneaky preview of Magpie and things started to look up - first with The Bank Loner from Catrin Doyle, then Superstar from arch fashionistas Ewan Jones Morris and Casey Raymond. The evening reached a delirious climax with Love Me Love My Dog, a handy comedy from Matt Mullins and MovieMaker's own Simon Howells.

Dazzled by this month's Inceptionary intro, Jamie Adams declared
I See Stars. Next came some community work: Brain Addiction: An Appeal from Paul Scoble and the undead, followed by Poppy Nicol and the Tree Musketeers. There were obstacles along the way, but Hannah McKimm was able to come Out With Dad eventually. Jon Rennie programmed a double feature about dodgy mentors, with contrasting types depicted in Blank Canvas and The Cursed Mirror. Finally, Ewan Jones Morris and Casey Raymond came to the rescue with Chicken Bones, a heroic music video for John Grant.

Last time at Chapter MovieMaker: we did it with special effects

There were strange sights from the get-go. Anomalies in the space-time continuum were recorded in this month's intro - a cinema and a shop occupying the same physical dimensions, for example. Then came a Sea of Glass, courtesy of Sean Vicary. Next, if you can believe it, came two episodes involving a Pizzaman. The Subjective Realities team presented their latest music video and trompe l'oeil, though their rhythmic star was nowhere to be seen. Quick as a flash came Balance, a speedy collaboration between John Shackleton and Skillset Screen Academy Wales, followed by Blackbird, an exercise in harmony and greenscreenery from Silva Huws. Ben Reed did a cut-and-paste job with his Sweetheart, but Massimo Salvato's Carmen had hidden qualities. Kevin Jones arrived with Good Boy Mike, and Casey Raymond and Ewan Jones Morris came together declaring I Wanna Go To Marz. Finally, have you seen Have You Seen from Simon Howells and Matt Mullins? The evening started with a bang: after this month's intro hurtled through A Day In The Life of a Chapter MovieMaker, Ryan Owen raced into first place with 90MPH, a music video for Tom Williams & The Boat. Stephen Hanks' elegant Water Under Bridge was next, with Sheila from Rabya Burris sneaking up behind. Ben Reed showed us something you can do On Your Own, then Steven Toozer introduced everyone to the visionary Glyn Pooley. Matthew Hackett's The Chase provided a zippy intermission before another documentary from Mr Toozer, this time looking at Canty Justice. In an apocalyptic climax, Ryan Owen returned with Spencer McGarry to warn us about their Great Enemies. Which are robots, by the way.

Nobody wants to be just one of the crowd and Clive is no exception. He seizes his chance to exceed his girlfriend's expectations by performing a random act of vigilantism. His actions trigger unexpected, amusing and filthy consequences. Will anybody get away squeaky clean?

German-occupied France, 1940. German soldiers storm a village believed to be harbouring French resistance fighters. Killing all of the adults, the soldiers take the children into the forest, to where an SS Commander awaits them.

The Commander is going to put the children through an horrific test to prepare them for a life in the future Empire of Germania. Designed to totally demoralise and quash any resistance the children might have, the Commander does not however reckon on a child's love for his younger siblings and friends, and how one act of defiance, courage and sacrifice will unravel everything.

Last time at Chapter MovieMaker: inexplicability

As is now tradition, the evening began with a filmed intro: this month's self-indulgent folly was inspired by the many activities available at Chapter and the early work of Mr Wesley Wales Anderson. Keri Collins then teased us with trailers for his upcoming detective mystery Colwmbo, Robin Mitchell investigated the state of being There But Not There: Absence in Cambodia, a shorter cut of a feature-length documentary, and in a third-act twist, Emmanuel Okolo brought The Stranger into the room.

With your regular host making trouble in Manhattan, Friend of MovieMaker AJ graciously stepped in to compère a particularly musical night. Track 1: a video for Greyhounds by Masters In France from local wunderkind Ryan Owen. Then, a trailer for Shade of Grey from Cyrus Mirza'Shafa, followed by Natalie Clements' story of a Snowman. The dynamic duo Ewan Jones Morris and Casey Raymond hit us with a double whammy: new videos for Barehed by the The Yellow Moon Band and Shoeing the Bones by Cate Le Bon. And the climactic show-stopper: a video for Man in My Mind by Race Horses from Ben Reed.

Last time at Chapter MovieMaker: all over the place

This month's intro provided a sporty start to the evening, then our journey began: from Museum, Park Place with Calum Daly and friends, then onwards to Nice Beaches courtesy of Shafeeq Vellani. John Shackleton introduced us to One Of The Crowd, Luke Andrews declared Vive La France, and Halleh Handji brought The Hollywood Losers along. The evening concluded with Massimo Salvato unveiling his Muse. Inspiring stuff.
